Last time we were together, I started to fill you in on the details of just what a design consultation with me looks like. Today, let’s get to the next phase – the part where we meet and really get down to work together!
On the day of your appointment you will not frantically clean your house. Keep it real – this is supposed to be fun! I will never ever care, I promise! This is a ‘come as you are’ meeting. I will ring your doorbell prepared with everything we will need to work through your design goals as efficiently as possible. We are going to walk around and talk and I’m going to ask you a lot of questions and we are hopefully going to have a laugh at least once. I’m going to write a lot of things down and basically spread my stuff out on your kitchen table and make myself at home. When our meeting time is nearing an end, my phone will ding to let me know it’s time to wrap it up because you might not know it yet but I could chat with you for way too long and before you know it, I’m staying for supper. At that point I’ll probably ask you if you feel like you’ve told me everything I need to know for me to carry on, or if I’m there for a mini-consult or paint consult, if you feel like I’ve told you all you need to go forth and conquer your project. At the very end I will make sure we are both on the same page for the next step, because I love making clients wait in excited anticipation for something awesome but tangible to show up in their inbox!
Post-meeting & Production:
Sometime within the next 3 days I’m going to pour a strong cup of coffee with way too much cream in it and I will sit down in my office with your project in front of me. I will work hard doing some or all of these things: designing, drafting, photo editing, gathering, sample board creating, typing notes from our meeting, creating an action plan for you and hopefully smiling and thinking ‘this is going to kick ass!’ for the exact time allotted in your package. Just kidding, I always spend some extra time making sure every detail is just right because I truly love what I do and more than anything want my clients to feel like they got a killer design project for their dollars. Your happiness is my happiness. Depending on the package you’ve chosen and what we chatted about in your meeting, I will get everything together in an organized package. I’ll save it as a PDF. I’ll email it to you. I’ll smile to myself because I’m a design nerd and I don’t care who knows it.
Along with that sweet little package I will also include your invoice. You can pay me many ways, it doesn’t matter to me which one, just please do it in a reasonable time. I don’t want to have to get serious. I’m kidding. I just hate wondering if you got the email, if you didn't realize there was a second attachment or if you skipped town and joined the circus with your shiny new design pdf tucked in your front pocket. The anticipation is too much for me!
